LOCATION  

The school is situated in the small village named Kuttur, which is in the Kolazhy Gramapanchayath of Thrissur District. The School is located almost 5 Km away from Thrissur town.

HISTORY

The school was founded in 1942 as a private management Lower Secondary School to meet the educational needs of students at Kuttur and neighbouring places. The founder was late. Sri.Karimpatta Kochunni Menon. His vision and dream materialized in the form of a school in 1 acre 10 cents compound. It was a humble beginning with 9 students and 2 teachers. Later the school was handed over to the Government. A request was made to the Government to retain the name of the school. The request was accepted. Then onwards the school was called as Chandra Memorial Govt.High School.

IMPORTANT PERSONALITIES
There are a lot of names to remember, who were a part of this institution both as former students and teachers. The first name among the former students is Sri. Therambil Ramakrishnan, Former Speaker of Kerala Legislative Assembly and the Present M.L.A of Thrissur. Dr.Sunny D.Neelankavil(UK), Dr.Joseph Kolengadan, Dr.K.R.Antony(U.N.O), Dr.Francis Neelankavil(Prof. Trinity College, Ireland), Dr.Raman Namboothiripad, Dr.P.G.Savithri(Scientist, USA),Joshi.K.Mathew (Present Principal in Charge), and the State Festival Gold Medalists P.G Shylabhai,T.K.Sasi, K.V.Sasi, Sanoop.P.S, were among the few gems of our students. Among the former teachers, the famous Malayalam Poet Sri.Vyloppilly Sreedhara Menon comes first, who was a Natural Sci. teacher of our school. Emmaty Master, Kochuvareed Master, Louis Master, Pyloth Master(National Award Winner),T.R.Raghava Panickkar Master,Raju Koorkkanchery were among the few, who need to be remembered in the history of teachers in our school.

HIGH SCHOOL SECTION 

High School Section was started in 1946. In U.P there are four divisions in each classes. In High School there are four divisions in standard 8th and 9th and three divisions in 10th standard. There is an English Medium division in each standard.

HIGHER SECONDARY SECTION

Higher Secondary Section was sanctioned in 2004 and started in that year itself.
